Broken Down Prom Limo

The eight youngsters were hoping to arrive at their High School prom in style. But, instead they were left standing on Crowle Village Hall’s car park when it failed to turn up. The youngsters ended up having to be taken to the prom by their parents.
Although the car had been booked four months in advance it failed to show up. Parents had telephoned the company who assured them the driver had left at 5pm - in time for the start of the prom at 7.30pm - to collect the teenagers. Finally, the parents decided to drive the kids to the prom in their own cars. It was not quite the arrival that the group had hoped for. Indeed, some of them felt quite embarrassed that they had turned up in their own cars, whereas, all of their mates were in posh limos and other extraordinary vehicles.
The owner of the limo company has subsequently apologised to the group. He said he was unable to contact the driver on the night of the prom. It wasn’t until later, that it was discovered that the car had broken down en-route and that the driver was trying to get the vehicle removed from the roadside. The firm has since refunded the £50 deposit paid and offered the group a free ride in one of their cars as compensation, but this was turned down.
